Terms of Service

1. Operator & independence

I operate pgtruth personally. This site is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any other product or service (including community rental or map sites that inspired the idea). Ideas like maps and listings are widely used; my implementation, wording, branding, and data are my own unless I credit a third party elsewhere.

2. The service

pgtruth offers a map-based, community-written information service about paying-guest (PG) stays. It is not a broker, landlord, or booking platform. Content comes from users and is not verified by me.

3. Your use

You agree not to misuse the service, including:

• Submitting false, defamatory, harassing, or illegal material.
• Spamming, scraping in a way that harms availability, or attempting to bypass security (including rate limits and bot checks).
• Impersonating others or misrepresenting your relationship to a place.

I may remove or restrict content or access when I reasonably believe these terms or the law require it.

4. User-generated content & license

Reviews, ratings, text, and related data you submit are your responsibility. By submitting content, you grant pgtruth a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, adapt, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the service (including moderation and aggregation).

You represent that you have the right to grant this license for what you submit.

5. Intellectual property

The pgtruth name, logo treatment, user interface, and original materials I create for the site are protected by copyright and other laws, except where third-party rights apply (for example map providers). You may not copy or reuse them except as allowed by law or with my written permission.

6. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. I do not endorse any review, guarantee accuracy, or verify that contributors stayed at a property. Decisions you make based on the map are solely your risk.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or reliance on user content.

8. Moderation & flags

I may use automated rules (for example, hiding content after repeated flags) and manual processes. Flagging and moderation are not legal findings. If you believe content is unlawful, you may also use appropriate legal or platform channels available in your jurisdiction.

9. Changes

I may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
